There is always a chance that you need to export Oracle Primavera P6 Project to Microsoft Project. If you export your P6 project to Microsoft Project using Primavera built-in functions, and you get the XML format MS Project file successfully, now you want to open this XML formated MS Project file with Microsoft Project 2013 or MS Project 2016. You launch MSproject 2013/2016,  go to File, select Open, and select your xml Project file to import, and in Microsoft Project 2013/2016 Import Wizard, the Import Mode screen appears, you select "As a new project", then got this error - "An import error occurred. The element in the element with =7 has invalid data. The calendar name does not exist. Click a calendar in the list, and then press Enter.", and you just cannot open your XML format MS Project file. But if you open the same file using MS Project 2010, it's successful! What's wrong with that? It's caused by the new version of MS Project (2013 or 2016), it validates the calendar length before opening, and the max length is 50, and if you calendar name is over this limit, you will see this error. P6 Admin Tool helps to fix this issue, you just need to export your P6 project as XER format file, then use P6 Admin Tool to convert the Primavera project to MS Project file.
